Spread the Word

The 86it Anti-Litter Movement takes momentum to keep it in motion. We are all that momentum. Show your Wake County love by Liking us on Facebook, add a litter bag to your car or show your respect with a window cling in your car window. And tell all of your friends to do the same. The more momentum, the more awesome Wake County becomes.

86ingit is as Easy as 1, 2, 3 … 86

Feeling motivated to do some 86ing in Wake County? You bring the 86ers and we’ll provide the tools to make your cleanup a success with our 86it Litter Kits. Each kit contains gloves, safety vests, litter grabbers and garbage bags. Click here to request a kit.

86it Anti-Litter Movement is partnered with Artspace and 9 local artists to “Respect the Can-vas.” Artists designed, painted and decorated industrial trash can-vas’, transforming them into functional pieces of art to entice people to 86 their trash.

The “Can-vases” were unveiled at the 2011 Artsplosure Festival (May 21, 22) at Moore Square in downtown Raleigh. The cans are going on display as a functional exhibit throughout Wake County. Click here for more information and to view the Can-vases.

Earn the Respect the Can Patch

We’ve partnered with Girl Scouts – North Carolina Coastal Pines to develop the Respect the Can patch. By completing 5 of 10 litter related activities, Girl Scouts will learn, act and teach about all things litter. The Respect the Can Activity Kit is available for check-out from and of the Girl Scout council’s service centers. Girl Scouts, contact your membership director or closest service center for details. Boy Scout Leaders, send us an email and we’ll help you earn a patch, too!Chuck at Raleigh's First Night Event
